DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Odalys was located near latitude 22.8 North, longitude 123.1 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north-northeast near 6 mph (9 km/h). The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north-northeast near 6 mph (9 km/h). A slow northeastward motion is expected through tonight, followed by a turn to the south or south-southwest. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Continued weakening is forecast over the next couple of days, and this system is expected to dissipate by the middle of the week. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches). By Monday evening, Odalys should turn abruptly southward with a slight increase in forward speed. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Further rapid weakening is forecast over the next few days, and Odalys should degenerate to a post-tropical cyclone by tonight.
